Outpacing traditional branded and generic products, specialty medications are the fastest growing pharmaceutical segment and a critical component of patient care today. In 2016, specialty product sales, valued at $181 billion, represented 40% of the overall U.S. pharmaceutical market, according to a survey of specialty pharmaceutical distributors by the Healthcare Distribution Alliance.
